Ten Thousand Times
Have you ever heard the Thomas Edison quote, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”
I feel like that’s what Evie and I have been doing lately. Even when the things we make taste good.
I realize sometimes, we can be our own worst critics. But I just feel like everything I’ve tried to do lately has not worked. It’s one of my most favorite quotes when I’m feeling like this. It will pass and we need to keep trying. We have a few recipes we’ve tried out where something hasn’t gone the way we’ve(I) wanted them to. I, mostly think it’s because of poor planning.
But if we didn’t fail, where would we be?
The same place as if we had made a successful recipe, happy and enjoying our time together. That’s what matters isn’t it?
So I give to you, One of Ten Thousand Apple Pie.
It needs more apples, work, more planning and less flour. And it sure as heck isn’t pretty!
I won’t mention the fact that it wasn’t supposed to be pie at all.
Either way, it tasted good, we had fun and we finally baked something together in what has seemed like weeks.
It needs more work but I’m not gonna complain about eating pie ever.
Maybe next time, we’ll make really make a pie and it’ll be Our 10,001th one.
Until then, we’re gonna keep baking and having fun together
Because, that’s what it’s all about right?!
